Dreams do come true! These two sweethearts tied the knot March 17, 2012 at Pulaski Heights United Methodist and celebrated their reception at the Clinton Presidential Center in downtown Little Rock. All of the gorgeous images are from Drew Cason Photography. This sweet love story is from our friends at Arkansas Bride!

“Dardanelle-native, Kami Taylor hit it off with David Coleman, of Trumann, five years ago at a banker’s conference. Despite living in separate cities – he in Fayetteville, she in Little Rock – a long-distance romance ensued, followed quickly by a move to Little Rock for David, and a little while later, an engagement ring for Kami.

“I am from a family of bankers, I work in banking, and David is a banker,” Kami said, “so I suppose it was my destiny to marry a banker!”

Bride’s Inspiration
“March 17 was the date that happened to work out for us—it just happened to be St. Patrick’s Day. We’re not Irish, so I didn’t want to focus on that, but we made use of it as more of a ‘lucky’ theme.”

How They Customized
As a nod to the holiday, they served green beer and shamrock cookies, and had a candy buffet with a pot of gold-coin chocolates, among other sweets; and instead of petals, the flower girl tossed silk clovers.
Kami said they also customized with the talents of family. This included having her cousin-in-law sing at the ceremony and perform with his band at the reception; and her uncle, Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola, helped officiate. “It was just like my parents, who were married by my mother’s uncle 40 years ago.”

Ways They Saved
“A major cost cutter was that I didn’t hire a wedding planner,” Kami said, explaining that her career planning events for the Arkansas Bankers Association came in handy. She also prioritized her budget, splurging only on the things that were most important to her, like the reception and the photography.

What detail truly made the wedding yours?
“The wedding date! St. Patrick’s Day really turned out to be a fun day to be married, and the holiday will be even more fun to celebrate each year now that it’s our ‘lucky’ anniversary date.”
