Brilliant Proposals: Jennifer and Justin
Your proposal is a beautiful chapter in your love story, and, at Sissy’s Log Cabin, we are honored to help you write it. When we first met Jennifer and Justin, we knew they were meant to be together. The events surrounding their engagement only further support that the stars are aligned for this happy couple.
Justin and Jennifer were familiar with each other through mutual friends, but crossed paths one night out with friends. The two ended up dancing to Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man,” marking the beginning of their love story. They went on their first date four days later and, almost two years later, they were engaged.
When searching for an engagement ring, the couple came to Sissy’s Log Cabin in Little Rock with an idea of what they hoped to find. As first-time diamond buyers, they initially felt overwhelmed, but our jewelry expert, Alejandra Romero, immediately put them at ease. She helped guide them through the process, showing Jennifer and Justin different types of bands and diamonds and listening to what they wanted. In the end, we designed a customized engagement ring that matched exactly what Jennifer had envisioned.
In late August 2017, Justin started planning for the engagement to take place in Dallas. He found a venue and was taking care of every detail when, suddenly, his life was put on pause. In early September, Hurricane Harvey struck and Justin was deployed to Houston with the National Guard. For two weeks, his unit helped with relief after the hurricane, and he returned home a week before the day he planned to propose. With the help of Jennifer’s sister, he was able to book the engagement venue and prep for the proposal all in that one week.
Despite all odds, the couple made it to Dallas. They spent their day cheering on the Hogs at a Razorback football game, then headed to dinner at one of Jennifer’s favorite restaurants. As they dined, Jennifer’s sisters were at the engagement location, the rooftop of The Venue at 400 North Ervay, setting up for the special night. After dinner, Jennifer and Justin went to meet her sisters. While Jennifer took photos with her sisters downstairs, Justin snuck up to the rooftop and positioned himself for the proposal.
Completely unaware of what was about to happen, Jennifer took the elevator to the top of the building. When the doors opened, they revealed a candle-lit path leading to Justin. Jennifer was shocked but thrilled and, of course, she said “yes.” Their relationship started as a beautiful surprise, so it only made sense for Justin’s proposal to be just as unexpected.
We are so proud to have played a role in Jennifer and Justin’s love story. Now that they have experienced the perfect proposal, their next chapter will be their wedding at the Clinton Presidential Center, with their first dance to the song that started it all, “Die a Happy Man.” We love a happy ending, but the wedding is only the beginning for Jennifer and Justin.
