Brilliant Proposals: Avery and Tyler

The perfect engagement ring stands out against all the rest. When Avery knew she would soon get engaged to her boyfriend, Tyler, she started browsing through rings on Pinterest. It wasn’t until her mom sent her an email with the subject line “This is the One” that she knew the search was over. Avery opened the email to find the Gabriel & Co. “Delilah” ring at Sissy’s Log Cabin, and she instantly knew her mom was right. When Avery visited our Memphis location, we were thrilled to let her try on the ring that would soon be hers.

Avery and Tyler met as sophomores at the University of Alabama. They were set up by a mutual friend and have been inseparable ever since. After traveling to Iowa to visit Tyler’s extended family for Christmas, Avery knew she was going to marry Tyler. Throughout the long trip, Tyler was always patient and kind, and Avery loved watching him interact with his nieces and nephews.

Over the summer, Avery dropped into our store with her mom and Tyler. Our sales manager, Jason Heckendorf, helped Avery try on all different types of rings, but she kept coming back to the one her mom picked out. Finally, she told Jason and Tyler that the Gabriel & Co. “Delilah” ring was the one she wanted to wear forever. Jason took Avery’s ring size and noted all of the details about her ring, keeping them on file for when Tyler would purchase the ring.

Tyler ended up coming back a little over a month later to purchase the ring, and the process was simple and fast because of Jason’s notes. He bought the setting and the matching wedding band, while Avery’s parents provided the center diamond from her mother’s original engagement ring. Tyler left Sissy’s Log Cabin with the perfect bridal set in hand, ready to propose to the love of his life.

One weekend, Avery, Tyler and their family and friends were in Nashville for the National Wild Turkey Federation Convention. On Friday night, the group went out to dinner and stopped to take a picture by the Nashville sign. It was there, right in front of the camera, that Tyler got down on one knee and proposed to Avery with her dream ring. Avery exclaimed “Yes, a million times yes!”

When Tyler and Avery reflect on their engagement, Jason will always hold a special place in their memories. Fortunately, we have jewelry experts like Jason at all four of our locations, and they each can help you find the perfect engagement ring, whether you have it picked out before you walk through the door or discover it in store.
